This note outlines the visual philosophy behind the custom design of my notes vault. The style fuses the organic, minimalist principles of Japandi (Japanese-Scandinavian) aesthetic with the structural clarity of Industrial design, highlighted by Sicily Cyan accents. It is designed to be a calm, high-focus cognitive environment for my research.

Core Design Elements

• Book-like Editorial Reading: Using Fraunces for headings and Alegreya for body text creates a tactile, publication-like experience, moving away from generic digital screens to a cozy, focused book-like format.
• Rice-Paper & Textured Steel: The background colors (warm rice-paper #fdfbf7 in light mode, cozy espresso bean #1b1c1e and steel #222325 in dark mode) minimize eye strain during long research sessions.
• Sicily Cyan Accents: The vibrant sea-cyan accent (#63afae) serves as a visual anchor to my Mediterranean roots—bringing the light and color of the Sicilian sea into my workspace.
• Liquid Glow Micro-interaction: A faint radial cyan glow follows the mouse cursor in dark mode, mimicking moonlight reflecting on water.
• The Living Knowledge Graph: The interactive Zola graph adapts to these theme colors, visualizing my vault not as a static index but as an organic, connected web of ideas.

Personal & Professional Alignment

This environment directly reflects my journey, my work, and my approach to knowledge:

• My Journey (Sicily ➔ Rome ➔ Zurich): I used to live in Sicily, then Rome, and now I live in Zurich. The Sicily Cyan accents bring a trace of the Mediterranean sea and summer light into the quiet, structured Swiss environment where I work (Zug).
• Engineering Rigour: The concrete-toned cards and clean dashed borders reflect my daily work as a Senior ML Engineer in Cybersecurity. Deploying robust MLOps pipelines and securing AI models requires structural integrity, clean interfaces, and material honesty.
• Refuge from Noise: The Japandi minimalism provides a quiet cognitive refuge. Filtering out digital clutter allows me to focus on complex AI Safety problems and synthesize deep research papers.

(Note: A custom Hokusai-inspired wave logo was developed and remains archived in my static asset files for the future, but the header is currently kept text-only for clean, unpretentious wabi-sabi simplicity).
